SIGN UP WITH CLAC 3 Easy Steps 1. Sign a membership card – Request a membership card from a CLAC representative or organizer. Fill out, sign, and return the card to a CLAC representative or organizer. Your card is completely confidential—your employer will not find out! 2. Educate others – At least 40 percent of workers in your workplace need to sign a membership card for CLAC to apply to the Ontario Labour Relations Board to be your union. Encourage others to participate and make an informed choice. 3. Vote yes – Once we have enough membership cards signed, the labour board will conduct a secret ballot vote for all eligible voters. If over 50 percent of those who cast a ballot vote in favour of CLAC representation, we become your union! In Ontario, you have the democratic right to change unions if you are not happy with your current representation. The following three steps are required when electing to change unions.
